The Phoenix

The legendary phoenix is described as a mythical sacred firebird, with magnificent purple and blue plumage which lives for thousands of years.

The phoenix is an intensely magical creature. The tail feathers are said to create the most powerful magic and the tear of a phoenix has extraordinary healing powers.

At the end of its lifecycle the phoenix builds itself a nest of cinnamon twigs and other aromatic plants. The bird then turns to face the rays of the sun, beating its wings; it deliberately fans the flames for itself and is consumed in the fire.

On the ninth day after that, the bird rises from its own ashes and with maturity it regains its previous appearance and form. The renewed phoenix is destined to live again for thousands of years.

The bird is able to regenerate when hurt or wounded, being almost immortal and invincible.

Let this bird teach us to believe in the resurrection of the body and mind; to be transformed and healed through the investment in oneself.

The mission of Children of Phoenix is to assist survivors in renewing their lives through providing scholarships to create pathways to education and thus rebuilding their lives.
