FOR PROFESSIONALS: WORKING WITH AND SUPPORTING SURVIVORS OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE

Focus will be on understanding disclosure and delayed disclosure (what motivates and facilitates disclosure); responding to disclosure, understanding trauma impacts and providing support. The role and value of psycho-education to assist in the recovery and healing process. Legal literacy: understanding and negotiating the criminal justice system.
Suitable audience: professionals from welfare organisations, health professionals, teachers, school counsellors, trauma counsellors, grief counsellors, advocates, lawyers, court liaison support workers, pastoral care workers, advocates.
Cost: $60. Tea/coffee and Lunch provided. Reference Pack for every participant valued at $50

FOR THE COMMUNITY: UNDERSTANDING FAMILY VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL VIOLENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY AND SUPPORTIVE RESPONSES TO VICTIM/SURVIVORS

Focus on the prevalence of family violence and sexual violence. Understanding delayed disclosure and disclosure; responding to disclosure and providing support; accessing and understanding the process of reporting and the legal process; supporting victim recovery and safety issues.
Suitable audience: members of the general community who are supporting someone who has been abused or wanting to have further knowledge; community groups; family members or friends supporting a person who has been abused.

Closed Workshop for Male Survivors
Making sense of feelings and impact; disclosure; getting help from family, friends, professionals; making a police report : your rights and choices; the legal process; keeping safe; creating pathways forward
Workshop open to male survivors. (Survivors welcome to bring a support person)
No Cost. Lunch provided and Support Pack valued at $70 provided free to every participant.
